Code for Change
Code for Change is a transformative skill development initiative by the Department of Professional Studies at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore. Launched in 2020, the program has integrated Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) into finance and accounting education, providing personalized and value-driven learning experiences. Originally started as a campus initiative, it has since expanded nationwide as a PAN-India Digital Skill Development Initiative. The initiative has reached schools and colleges across urban, rural, and marginalised communities in India. Over 11,644 students have been trained in advanced tools like Tableau, Power BI, Python, SQL, AIML and Generative AI. The initiative is focused on skill development, inclusion, and societal empowerment, preparing students for the challenges of a technology-driven world.
Since its inception, the initiative has successfully trained over 11,644 students, promoting inclusivity and societal empowerment. The program reaches diverse communities, ensuring equitable access to advanced digital skills for students from various socio-economic backgrounds. Through workshops and hands-on training, participants gain valuable insights and practical experience, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.
By connecting academia with industry needs, Code for Change prepares a future-ready workforce equipped to tackle societal challenges through technology-driven solutions. The initiative not only enhances employability but also fosters creativity and problem-solving skills, positioning students to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the broader economy.
The Department of Professional Studies at CHRIST (Deemed to be) University has also organised a 3 day workshop on Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning in order to equip the participants with skills that are in demand.
