Schools for Nation
The Schools for Nation initiative is a collaborative effort between Christ University and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK, designed to enhance financial literacy and ethical leadership among students in India. This program utilizes a peer-learning model, where university-trained mentors teach school and college students essential financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, investing, and credit management.
By addressing the pressing issues of financial illiteracy and the need for ethical leadership, the initiative fosters responsible citizenship and long-term financial well-being. The pilot phase has successfully engaged schools like Delhi Public School (DPS) South in Bangalore and Montfort Senior Secondary School in Jharkhand, employing interactive, activity-based learning and establishing student-led financial literacy clubs to ensure sustainability. With a vision for nationwide expansion, Schools for Nation aims to create a financially empowered society by instilling fiscal discipline and ethical decision-making from an early age, ultimately contributing to national economic stability and social responsibility. Through this initiative, students gain practical knowledge and skills that prepare them for real-world financial challenges, promoting a culture of informed financial decision-making across diverse communities.
